Here We Will Share All Our Disney Tips, Tricks and Hacks!
Rise Of The Resistance Boarding Steps
- Download the Disney app and familiarize yourself with it before going to the parks. Link all passes and tickets of the people who will be with you for ROTR. Also delete any linked passes/tickets of any who will not be joining you.
- You have to be scanned into Disneyland before the park officially opens (8am or 9am). If parking in the structures arrive at least an hour before park open to get through parking, security and the park gate line.
- Once scanned in get away from crowded areas. We typically leave Disneyland as soon as we scan in and head to La Brea Bakery. Your cell service is affected by how many people in your immediate area are using data. This can cost you precious seconds when trying to secure a boarding pass.
- Open your app two minutes prior to park open. Click “Find Out More” under the ROTR picture. You should be on a page with a “my status” button. STAY ON THAT PAGE! Watch your clock and as soon as it turns 8am (9am during the week) hit the my status button and then the join boarding group button. Follow the prompts quickly to complete joining a boarding group.
- Enjoy the ride!
Rope Drop Path Number One: No Line Before Nine DCA!
Yes Disneyland has become crowded, and will continue to grow as new IP related content is added to the parks. An easy way to beat this is with timing and the use of tools Disney provides. The first one we would like to share is "No Line Before Nine"
If you "Rope Drop" meaning you get to the parks when they open go straight to the California Adventure Park. Most people go straight to Disney because it has the more famous attractions. If you have MaxPass (RDK highly recommends it) get a Tier-1 fastpass as soon as all of your party have scanned their passes or tickets at the gate. Then knock out a bunch of Tier-2 rides while you wait for your fastpass time. Here is what you can do on a typical Saturday before 9am at DCA in any order. None of the following should be more than ten minutes and your first rides you can walk right on:

Rope Drop Path Number 2: No Line Before Nine Disneyland!
Unlike Rope Drop Path Number 1 you should be a little more careful with the order in which you progress. As always get a Tier-1 fastpass as soon as all of your party is scanned into the park. However, this time you should head straight towards Space Mountain, Indiana Jones or the Matterhorn and jump right into their standby line. at Rope Drop the wait will be anything from 5 minutes to 20 minutes but you knock out a Tier-1 ride without using your fastpass.
On a busy day your first fastpass will be around 9:20am assuming you used the MaxPass app feature when you first entered the park. If you don't have MaxPass it will be longer because before Rope Drop you will not be able to access the fastpass terminals until 8:00am. So after you hit your first ride via standby go to either Pairates or Big Thunder Mountain. If you hit them both it should almost be time to get your next fastpass (Tier-1) and hit your second Tier-1 ride with the fastpass you already have UNLESS you or a member of your party is a Peter Pan fan and in this case go straight to Peter Pan (will be about 30 minutes by now) and then hit your second Tier-1 ride since you will have an hour window to do so.
For the rest of the day continue to get Tier-1 fast passes and hit Tier-2 rides while waiting for the fastpass window to come up. With this strategy you should be able to hit all the rides you want in a full day without waiting more than 30 minutes for anything and less than 10 minutes for all the Tier-1 rides!
